Specialized Tools Engineer

Responsibilities:

The job consists of two elements, onshore and offshore support. Offshore, the candidate will be responsible for performing mechanical Wellbore cleanups including checking equipment, preparing BHA’s, liaising with the client’s well site supervisors to ensure a safe and technically sound working environment, and taking overall responsibility for the execution of the cleanup.  Onshore, the candidate will assist our Workshop Supervisor in the preparation of assemblies prior to load out. The candidate will assist the Wellbore Productivity Regional Supervisors & Account Manager by providing detailed End of Well Reports, contribute to the Lessons Learned database, and provide input on Technical Proposals. There will be further opportunity for the candidate to provide additional cover for resident operational staff during vacation and busy periods. The position is non-rotational, with offshore and onshore assignments determined via client operational requirements. Training will be provided in other aspects of Wellbore Productivity including Filtration, Completion Fluids and Drilling Fluids.

Requirements:

The candidate should have 2+ years field experience with Specialized Tools (Speedwell or SPS) or a minimum of five years experience running mechanical Wellbore clean-up equipment on a rig site location (e.g. casing/liner scraping & brushing tools, ball operated tools, weight set tool, circulating subs, jetting tools and debris removal tools) i.e. drillers, tool pushers, liner hangers or fishing tool technicians. Applicants should have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently. Excellent PC skills are essential, including Microsoft Office Excel & Word applications. Must be organized and self-starter, self reliant with good initiative. Applicants should be Malaysian citizens. Comfortable with working an offshore rotational schedule. Willingness and ability to work offshore on call status. Applicants must be willing to travel to any location to meet our operation needs in a multitude of locations. A commitment to QHSE Compliance.
