Responsibilities:

To manage a team of Associate Engineers responsible to:

·         Fault troubleshooting of OSI Layer’s 1 through 7 including Internet routing protocols.

·         Ensure all monitored and/or reported network faults are managed in terms of recovery and escalation.

·         Handle simple technical change requests (Cisco CLI based) from various ticketing systems.

·         Manage outages with backend teams and media providers.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

·         To be the Subject Matter Expert or Referral Point for the team

·         To handle Escalation Calls from the team

·         To be able to handle complex cases and VIP customers

·         To coach new hires and ensure they achieve good levels of technical  competency

·         To work on Ad Hoc Projects

·         To performance manage team members as required to achieve KPIs

·         Develop and manage roster adherence

Requirements:

Technical

·         Degree  holder with 5 years’ of relevant working experience in Telco related industry

·         Cisco Certified Network Associate or practical experience.

·         Knowledge of OSPF, MPLS, IPVPN, BGP protocols (with practical experience),

·         Knowledge of Internet network and system related services (with practical experience),

·         Must have worked in a Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Telco related company with at least one year working experience,

·         Functional knowledge of Layer 1 Telco equipment (switching devices, NTU, MUX),

Soft Skills

·         Responsible and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task

·         Able to work under pressure

·         Must have excellent English communication skills both written & oral with a neutralized accent

·         Excellent Customer relationship skills (example managing conference calls, etc)

·         Flexibility to manage technical issues 24 X 7
